Foliage green, turning very bright red in autumn, flowers small, inconspicuous, fruits orange-red. To promote red autumn color, the plant should be placed in full sun. Plants in too much shade will color later in autumn and may lose their leaves before they turn bright red. This shrub is tolerant of most soils, except very wet ones. Fertilize in early spring. Tolerates pruning at any time, but best done in late autumn or winter.
