A shrub of the Hydrangea family. Aromatic and rich. This deciduous shrub is tolerant of a little shade, but will flower more profusely and be happier in a warm, sunny location. Regular pruning isn't necessary as the flowers are on the old shoots, but you can encourage clumping and help maintain an even shape by pruning back the soft shoot tips after flowering or shortening the shoots by a third.
